Mascot Opens Full Service Driveshaft Repair Facility in Plainfield, IN
Plainfield, Indiana (December 6, 2016) – Mascot Truck Parts USA, LLC. – North America’s only wholesale remanufacturer of heavy truck differentials, transmissions, steering components and drivelines announced today the opening of its newest driveshaft repair facility in Plainfield, IN.
In the Fall of 2015 Mascot established its US headquarters and remanufacturing center of excellence in Plainfield, IN, a suburb of Indianapolis situated less than 6 miles from the Indianapolis airport which FedEx uses as a national hub for the U.S. “After our initial move and receiving feedback from local customers, we recognized the need to accelerate our planned expansion into driveshaft repair and manufacturing for this local market” commented Dwight Treen, Operations Manager for Mascot.
The new facility offers a complete line of Spicer and Meritor components primarily for medium to heavy vehicle classes as well as build-to-order manufacturing for customers in Indiana and across the country. This facility will also offer driveshaft repair services for those customers in the local Indiana market. The company has studied the courier transit time to existing customers particularly in the south and west and believes it can improve delivery times and lower freight costs for its customers.
“By opening this facility in Plainfield, IN we will free up additional capacity at our primary ISO9001 certified driveshaft facility in Mississauga, ON and continue to provide superior service in the local Ontario market, while remaining committed to our loyal partners across North America who rely on our unit down shipments every day” commented Bill Statham, President of Mascot Truck Parts.

New Owners of Mascot Truck Parts Renews Commitment and Focus on Improving Canadian Customers Service Levels

Brampton, Ontario (November 1, 2014) – Newly-acquired Mascot Truck Parts Canada, Ltd – a major remanufacturer of heavy truck components – has announced the first steps of its strategic plan to increase remanufactured product availability across Canada and to lower delivery lead times for the critical components its Canadian wholesale customer base desires to serve the end-users.
Since the purchase of Mascot from Meritor 30 days ago, Mascot has been increasing production levels to fully execute on a customer-focused plan that will see sustained and increased inventory levels across an expanded Canadian distribution network.
“The strategy has to change. Customers no longer want to wait for their most popular major drivetrain components to be repaired and returned,” said Bill Statham, President of Mascot Truck Parts. “Our business model is largely based on opening multiple new logistics warehouses across Canada, strategically selected to complement existing logistics locations and to better mirror the expanding needs of our wholesale customer base.”
Mascot has also stepped up its customer service by improving the response rate and measuring its own support of customers’ needs. “By centralizing and standardizing our customer service in one Canadian location, we can maximize upon the technical skills of our service experts,” said Statham. “We must ensure that when our customers call, we have the right inventory in the right location at the right time. When we do not, it’s critical we capture that information so we can consistently improve our customer experience”.
“The legacy of this company is tremendous,” offered Tony Mack, Canadian Operations Manager, Mascot. “Our strong brand position and traditionally outstanding customer service is unrivaled, and all of us are excited to return to our roots of serving our customers with robust inventory and a flexible, committed workforce.”
Mascot continues to operate from its current network of 17 third party logistics locations across the United States and expects the customer service level and response time to remain unchanged as a result of these changes in Canada. Mascot’s field representation will remain unchanged. Mascot anticipates moving its Canadian production activities out of the location it currently shares with its previous owner in Brampton, ON, to a larger independent location in the Greater Toronto Area in the upcoming months.
Mascot remanufactures and distributes, though its wholesale customer network, a complete line of “All-Makes” manual transmissions, differentials, steering gears and pumps as well as “build-to-order” drive-shafts for the heavy duty truck aftermarket. “We are proud to be the only wholesale aftermarket channel partner in our industry and are going to be working very hard over the next several quarters to redefine customer service once again.”
